These grants fund scientific events aimed at individuals with special needs, providing the necessary opportunities and resources to help them access education and training. This support enables them to realize their full potential and contribute effectively to the scientific and technological advancement of society.
Funding Support for Special Needs–Focused Initiatives
Who Can Apply
Funding is open to the following entities that promote inclusion, accessibility, and participation of individuals with special needs in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) fields:
Public & Private Universities:
Institutions that implement inclusive programs, training, or awareness initiatives supporting individuals with disabilities or promoting their participation in STEAM.
Research Institutions:
Organizations conducting projects or developing solutions that improve accessibility, tools, or opportunities for people with special needs.
Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) & Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs):
NGOs and CSOs that either:
Specialize in supporting individuals with special needs, or
Advocate for inclusive policies, practices, and engagement across education, innovation, and public life.
Terms and Conditions for Submitting Event Fund Requests (Special Needs Focus)
Eligibility
Support is limited to requests submitted by non-profit Kuwaiti entities, including:
Kuwait University
Private universities
Civil Society Organizations (CSOs)
Offices of regional or international organizations based in Kuwait
Event Location
Support is restricted to events held within Kuwait.
Submission Requirements
Organizers must provide all required documents specified in the support request form at the time of submission.
Incomplete submissions will result in cancellation of the support request.
Event Postponement
Entities may postpone the event once within the period covered by the submission window, with written notification to KFAS.
Grant Frequency
Each eligible entity may receive one grant per year.
Financial Documentation
The entity must submit original copies of all invoices related to expenses specified in the grant application form, in proportion to the total funding provided by KFAS.
Reporting Requirements
Each request must include a final report and an attendance sheet following the event.
Requests for Equipment, Devices, or Other Services
Do not complete the event support request form.
Instead, submit your request via email to escience@kfas.org.kw, including:
An expense report for the event or activity.
Each request will be reviewed individually.
If approved, support will be provided only for expense items with corresponding invoice submissions.
