Overview
The Activities and Events Grant support non-academic initiatives that promote science engagement that enhance public engagement, capacity building, and innovation in line with KFAS strategic priorities.
Priority Areas
KFAS supports applications that address issues of strategic importance to the State of Kuwait, with a particular focus on the following priority areas:
- Environment
- Energy
- Health
- STEAM Education
- Water and Food Security
- Future Economies
In line with KFAS’s strategic direction, priority is given to applications that contribute to these domains while also demonstrating awareness of emerging trends and innovative initiatives that may bring long-term benefit to the nation.
Within each priority area, applications may address a range of thematic subcategories, as outlined in the KFAS Strategy.
This funding stream focuses on science outreach and engagement activities and is distinct from the Conferences Grant, which supports formal academic gatherings.

Application Timeline
Applications are accepted through a window-based schedule. Applicants must submit their requests during the application window that correspond to their event dates.

Who Can Apply
Eligible applicants include:
Public and Private Universities
Research institutions (for public engagement activities only)
Civil Society Organizations (CSOs)
Nonprofit Organization (NGOs)
Required Application Documents
At the Time of Application:
Higher Management Letter confirming the event title, date(s), location, and budget.
Ministry of Social Affairs Notification Certificate (applicable only to CSOs and NGOs)
Event Program or Agenda
Organizing Entity’s Bank Account in Kuwait
Any additional documents specified in the application form
Post-Event Documentation (within three weeks after the event):
Invoices related to supported expenses
final report summarizing objectives and outcomes.

Rules and Regulations
All applications are subject to KFAS policies governing eligibility, compliance, and reporting.
