Commission Applied Studies for the Private Sector KFAS fosters knowledge enhancement, with the overarching aim to contribute to the production and distribution of relevant, accurate, and reliable data on Kuwait’s macro and micro-economic environment. It does so by funding Applied Studies, which identity opportunities on macro-economic, industry, and sectoral levels, and are specific to science, technology and innovation

Applied Studies

KFAS supports applied research that responds to emerging needs and opportunities in science, technology, and innovation (STI) through two main pathways:

  • KFAS-Initiated Studies
    Research projects commissioned by KFAS to address priority areas in STI.

  • Partner-Led Proposals
    Research proposals submitted by external institutions that align with KFAS strategic objectives.

Event Funding

Under the Enterprise Knowledge Enhancement Program (EKEP), KFAS may provide partial funding for events that support the private sector and address emerging regional and global trends impacting the Kuwaiti economy.


Eligible Event Types

Funding may be available for:

  • Conferences

  • Expert discussions

  • Public lectures and talks


Public–Private Dialogue (PPD)

The Public–Private Dialogue (PPD) initiative promotes structured engagement between the private sector and government entities through targeted events and activities.

Key Objectives

  • Improve regulatory frameworks

  • Support private sector growth and development

  • Address emerging regional and global economic trends

The PPD acts as a collaborative platform that strengthens communication, partnership, and mutual understanding—supporting sustainable economic development in Kuwait.
